I'm Riding For
Katelyn Mole
Our beautiful girl was taken from us much earlier than we liked. Even during her illness she put others first and did all she could to encourage others who were struggling. We know that she trusted God and is in a better place but also miss her dearly.
My Story
Just over six and a half years ago my daughter, Katelyn, was diagnosed with cancer (Acute Myeloid Leukaemia). After numerous rounds of chemo she had a stem cell transplant in July 2018. While she was being treated at Westmead I got involved in the Great Cycle Challenge to help raise awareness and funds for fighting kids' cancer. Even though Katie wasn't a "kid" when she was diagnosed finding a cure for childhood cancer will benefit all cancer sufferers.
Katie passed away in March 2020 due to complications following her stem cell transplant, so I'll be riding in memory of her and in the hope of finding a cure for others.
Throughout October I'll be aiming to ride 200 km. I know a lot of you support other causes but if you can spare a little please consider supporting my challenge by making a donation.
All funds raised will support the Children's Medical Research Institute to develop treatments and find cures for childhood cancers.
Thank you.
