I'm Riding For
My Mum
Mum was a real community person and was awarded a Premier accolade after 15 years with the St John Ambulance at Port Wakefield as a volunteer and the division manager back in the 60's and 70's. She was also the first women to be awarded a Life Membership for the Port Wakefield Eagles Football Club as their Head Trainer. She mentored me as a cadet at 15 years of age as an "Ambo". I have been Nursing since 1981.(42 years) I worked with cancer kids at the Adelaide Women's and Children's Hospital and have kept their "spirit" since then. I hope to help as much as possible to encourage this generation to get well and overcome this disease.
My Story
This October, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Because right now, cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
And so I am riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support my challenge by making a donation through my fundraising page to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Together, we can save little lives.
Thanks for your support.
