Aiden Hyde

Aiden would have turned 7 years old on 9 Nov 15 but he could fight no longer and sadly passed away on Wednesday 21 Oct 15 after fighting cancer for a number years. Aiden's family lives around the corner from my place, my youngest daughter played with Aiden and went to his school. I started this ride so I could help in some small way, because no child should have to suffer like that, and no parent should should have to watch their child go through that. When it is this close to home, it makes you thankful of your own kids health and so, I now ride in honour of Aiden and continue to try to help other kids who are and will battle everyday just to survive.

This October, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Because right now, cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 600 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

And so I am riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
