This year, I’ve set myself a different challenge: cycling 400km over the month of October, riding 20km a day, five days a week. Unlike my long road trip in 2020, and the one I had to cancel in 2021 due to unrelenting spring rains, this ride holds special meaning. I’m raising funds for the Children’s Medical Research Institute to support their critical work in preventing, diagnosing, treating, and ultimately curing childhood cancer. One of the survivors I rode for in 2020, is little Lorelai, and my hope is that with contributions from generous sponsors like you, many more children will have a chance to win their battle, as she did.

Cancer is the leading cause of disease-related deaths among children in Australia, with over 600 new diagnoses each year and three young lives lost every week. These kids should be living life, not fighting for it. This ride is my way of standing by them, and I’m asking for your support by sponsoring my efforts. Lorelai’s diagnosis was a stark reminder of how fragile and uncertain life can be, and I’ll be sharing more about her inspiring journey in a tribute soon.
