Helga Evans

On the 18th December 2008 we lost Jayne's mother to cancer. I have fond memories of my mother in law, Helga, being a strong woman who's fighting spirit and warped sense of humour stayed with her until the end (and in my opinion even beyond). As I go into this years challenge I will be thinking about Helga and I am pretty sure that she will be there in spirit cheering me on along the trails and tracks as I cycle towards my goals.

My Story

This time each year, myself and thousands of other riders across the country put out pedals to the test in the Great Cycle Challenge, riding to raise funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of childhood cancers and to hopefully one day find a cure for these diseases.

THANK YOU for those who have helped support me building a 9-year legacy in the challenge! During this time I have raised $10,214.08 and ridden 2,322.6 km to help ensure that kids affected by cancer have the chance to live life, not fight for it and excited to see what I can achieve in 2024!
