This is Winston and we have a problem ππ
I discovered my front tyre was flat and the solution was to pump it up and ride faster π so Winston and I could get in a small ride before the chaos begins and we have a flat tyre.
We were able to make it back, although slower in pace. Now I need to work out how to fix said flat tyre in the middle of no where.
Happy Tuesday and stay safe whatever you are doing.
Just because β¦
This was tonightβs sunset along the vastness of Stuart Highway, Wintinna at 8pm
The photo does not do it justice with the spectacular colours )
Stay safe and enjoy π
Two challenges I wanted to achieve today.
I have now reached over 300kms, smashing my original target of 250 kms and 8 days left of Octoberβs GCC. Iβm really excited to see my final kms π£οΈππ
The second challenge was the wind speed being 33kms, this morning was like resistance training when you didnβt want to. π
I had an awesome afternoon crossing paths with these amazing ladies when they stopped off at Cadney.
A few photos, chat and hugs later they were off and continuing with their adventure.
I wish you ladies a safe and healing adventure sprinkled with glitter π
You are all truly inspiring
It amazes me the beautiful people you meet.
This is Rhondda and Bob and we hit it off instantly when our paths crossed at Cadney Roadhouse the other week. Rhondda won gold at the Masters in Alice Springs and brought her medal to me last night. It is beautifully inscribe on the back with βTop Riderβ βGo Girlβ
I will wear it with pride and in honour of Donna π
Thank you Rhondda and Bob xoxo π
I thought I would share with everyone the magnificent colours that greet you in the morning. Itβs too beautiful not to share π
This morning I set off determined to get to 250kms⦠3 am felt like a good idea as there would be very few road trains I would need to stop for and could enjoy the moonlight, favourite tunes playing and taking in the amazing scenery.
I came across a mob of kangaroos, I donβt know who was more in shock ππ me being the lone bike rider with headlight or the kangaroos π¦
Today is celebration day. Big cheers to me π₯³πππ€©π₯°
Day 2 was an unscheduled day of rest given the strong winds that captured the outback and remoteness of Wintinna.
Safety first π
All I can say is the grids that are there for the cattle along the Stuart Highway are not my friend π and the bike seat is not comfortable when riding over the grates π
My first challenge was working out how to complete the GCC challenge when my bike is in Tasmania and I am currently in remote South Australia.
Chatting to the regulars here at Cadney Roadhouse and Ian from Greyhound buses put his hand up to pick up my bike from Alice Springs Kmart and was kind enough to bring it back the 500kms to me.
A big thank you to Ian π€©π
A big thank you to Neville for building my bike and pumping the tyres up.
A big thank you to Jay who is back again as my support and encouragement team ( Jay is MIA when I ride at 4 am ) I have no expectations of fanfare and streamers from Jay ππ
Lastly a big thank you from the tourist and regular drivers for their encouragement and donations.
Lastly ride safe and enjoy the moments π
