I had practised and was all set to ride my bike to RAC Arena for Telethon. However, when I started thinking through the logistics — changing clothes, finding somewhere to park my bike, and everything in between — it seemed a little more challenging than expected!
So, I decided to split my cycling into two sessions, one in the morning and another in the afternoon, and drive to RAC Arena instead. It felt like a better plan, allowing me to keep up with my Great Cycle Challenge kilometres without arriving too tired to answer calls. After all, I needed to save some energy for the other important part of the day!
Last weekend was Telethon weekend, and I had the pleasure of volunteering at the Telethon call centre alongside the wonderful families of the Kids Cancer Support Group (KCSG). This was my fifth consecutive year volunteering, and the atmosphere was as fantastic as ever!
A big shout-out to Richard and the entire KCSG team for the incredible work they do in organising these events and raising funds to support families dealing with childhood cancer at Perth Children’s Hospital. Their dedication and the positive energy everyone brings to the event are truly inspiring.
Being part of this community is a powerful reminder of why these efforts matter. Every kilometre I ride and every hour spent volunteering is a small contribution towards a cause that means so much to me.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support the Great Cycle Challenge and the fight against childhood cancer. Together, we can make a difference, one ride, one call, and one donation at a time. ❤️
Every kilometre counts. Every contribution matters. Let’s kick cancer’s butt! 🚴♂️💛
This morning’s early ride took me past Lake Gwelup, where the lake seemed to be slowly warming up as the day began. The weather was a little chilly, but honestly, it was great riding weather! There’s something special about being out early, enjoying the fresh air, watching the world wake up, and getting another ride in for a good cause. 💙
I’m starting to get into the rhythm of these rides now, and I’m really enjoying it. The biggest challenge at the moment? Finding the time! Between work, family, and everything else going on, fitting in enough kilometres takes a bit of planning.
This Sunday, I’ll also be volunteering at the Telethon call centre at RAC Arena. It’s another wonderful opportunity to support an important cause, and I’m looking forward to being part of it.
Now I’m wondering if I can combine the two challenges and ride all the way to RAC Arena and back! 🚴♂️ It sounds like a great goal, but I need to be realistic about the distance and make sure I’m ready for it. I guess tomorrow’s ride will be a good opportunity to practise a little more and see how I go.
One ride at a time, one kilometre at a time, and one step closer to making a difference for kids facing cancer.
Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared my journey, or sent words of encouragement. Your support keeps me going, especially on those chilly mornings when the alarm goes off!
Every kilometre counts. Every dollar counts. Together, we can help kick cancer’s butt! 💛

One of the most beautiful sunsets in the world has to be right here in Western Australia. They are simply breathtaking — colourful, captivating, and never quite the same. We are so fortunate to live close enough to the coast to enjoy them regularly. Perhaps because we see them so often, they can sometimes become part of our everyday routine, just another evening coming to an end. But for me, they never lose their magic, and they never disappoint.
Yesterday evening’s ride was another great one. The weather was kind, the conditions were good, and there were signs that the warmer days are on their way. Riding along the coast as the day winds down, with the beautiful WA sunset as a backdrop, is a reminder of how lucky we are.
Every ride is another opportunity to enjoy these little moments, stay committed to the challenge, and keep pedalling for a cause that means so much to me. ❤️
Every kilometre counts in the fight against kids’ cancer. Thank you to everyone who continues to support my Great Cycle Challenge journey and helps turn these rides into something bigger than just cycling.
For Soren, and for all the kids fighting cancer. 💙
Sunday greeted us with much better weather, so I woke up, got ready, and headed out for my ride.
Today, I had one goal in mind: reach 100 km. And finally, I did it! 💪
I rode around Karrinyup towards Trigg Beach, enjoying the ride, the fresh air, and the beautiful coastal scenery. It was a great ride, and reaching that 100 km milestone made it even more rewarding.
Every kilometre I ride during the Great Cycle Challenge is for a bigger purpose — helping kids with cancer and honouring Soren’s memory. Some rides are about pushing through the tough conditions, while others remind us how beautiful the journey can be.
Today was a little bit of both: a beautiful ride, a personal milestone, and another step towards making a difference.
100 km done. More kilometres to go. One mission: kick cancer’s butt! 💛
