Alfie

Alfie died from Brain Cancer in June 2018. He went through 10+ brain operations, multiple infections and complications, 5 months of high-dose chemotherapy, 9 months of intensive hospitalisation, months of headaches and vomiting, seizures, the loss of his mother to the same disease, and finally 10 days without food or water. After all that, he still fought for his last breaths… His strength, dignity and courage throughout his battle was unfathomable.

My Story

10 Oct 2023

Thanks to your continued support, I'm again taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer.

My nephew Alfie died from brain cancer in June 2018. He tragically also lost his mother Sara Chivers from an unrelated form of brain cancer in January 2018. Throughout his short life, Alfie's strength, dignity and courage was unfathomable. Their story was covered in various media and can be found online.

Cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia. Funds will support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support Alfie's legacy by making a donation.

Thank you!
