This October, I had planned to once again ride for Kid's cancer.

But, I find myself unable to ride to the original distance and fundraising goal I had planned. At 77 years of age, for the first time in over a decade, I have some personal health issues that are significantly limiting me this month. All being well they are fixable or controllable. By next year I hope to be back at full throttle. So starting on October 10th, I am tentatively planning to ride 175km in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! Last year I achieved 377kms, so it's a big drop. It's a disappointment. I haven't been in a position to train these last few weeks.

But I still want to ride. Because, compared with the issues I face, the challenge for Kids (and adults too) with cancer is so much more. And for of course, for their families, too. My heart goes out to them.

Right now, over 1,080 Australian children are diagnosed with cancer every year. 3 kids die every week.

Kids should be living life, NOT fighting for it.

But we need more funds to accelerate that work and bring back the joy of childhood health and happiness these children so richly deserve.
