My Story
This October, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Because right now, cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
And so I am riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support my challenge by making a donation through my fundraising page to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Together, we can save little lives.
Thanks for your support.

Mission Accomplished
19 Oct 2024When I signed up for this year’s GCC Ride I have set my goal to ride only 200kms; just a fifth of what I have set last year. This was after realising that my body could barely ride 10kms at a time when I did a few test rides around our block. Thanks to my mates who accompanied me on my first ride, I felt that I could set my goal higher and so I increased it to 300kms.
I love pushing myself to my limits. I love doing something where there is a big chance that I could fail. If you only do things knowing that you could not fail then there is no growth. Failure really is just a chance to fine tune your strategy.
This GCC Ride isn’t just for kids suffering with cancer. This ride was also for me. As my doctor told me, be glad that what you have is not cancer.
Thanks to everyone who supported my fund raising. We did it all together.

Goal Achieved
9 Oct 2024Thanks to all you wonderful people who supported my ride. This morning I woke up realising that I have surpassed my goal of raising $500! Amazing! This is probably the quickest in the 8 years that I have been doing this. I’m overwhelmed by your generosity. You know who you are.
So now the pressure is mounting to complete my end of the bargain. I still have lots of riding to do. Been checking the forecast everyday trying to find even just a tiny window of time to get on the saddle but the weather hasn’t been cooperating. It is quite frustrating to be honest but then I can’t help but think about the devastation in Florida and it made me realise that I am in no position to whinge about what seems like a drizzle compared to what is happening on that side of the world. There is always something to be thankful about.
The plan is to ride for an hour on Friday after work and then wake up early on Saturday for a “longer” ride before the weather turns bad again. It’s funny and frustrating at the same time knowing that earlier this year I could have ridden the entire 300kms in one go. Literally. On my fixie bike. Those days are gone and I have to be thankful that I could still ride my bike.
Again, thanks to everyone. We are all in this together.
