This October, I am again taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer. I have been involved in this challenge since 2013; it is for a great cause and gives me the much-needed motivation I need to get on the bike.

This year I have five grandchildren and they all bring so much joy with their smiles, giggles, playfulness and curious nature about everything. I have one granddaughter born with Spina Bifida but we-re lucky she is healthy and doing great. I can imagine what parents, grandparents, family and friends go through with a sick child in hospital.

If me riding throughout the month of October helps even the slightest bit, then all the effort will well and truly worth it.

I have nominated 1000km again this year however, it all depends on your support. The more you sponsor the more I will ride. For every $ donated I will ride 1km. This is a win-win as the more you inflict the pain on my backside, more importantly you'll be helping sick kids, family and friends fight cancer.
